I don't know why I bother, if you look at the karma scores, reddit is fucking great at just downvoting anything they disagree with, despite us having what I thought was a reasonable discussion.

Anyway, that data still has the same issue of not being granular enough about the duties police engage in and the relative risk of each.

There may be more loggers than officers, but presumably 100% of loggers time at work is spent logging. An officer may only be in a dangerous situation less than 1% of the time.

But extrapolated out, that 1% of the time may be a far more dangerous situation than a logger's job, but cops simply are placed in that situation far less.
