Correct, at the end of the War. But we are talking about 9/11, and they didn't stay in Afghanistan after the War ended. They left. Are you not going to mention anything about the political aims of Al-Qaeda? The nationalities of the people involved? That they didn't fight with Afghans in the War? Ah...okay.

And you said: the US sent them over $3bn...are you unfamiliar with how much it cost to run Al-Qaeda (the information on this is extensive after the 9/11 commission)? If they had $3bn, they wouldn't have needed to raise other money...ever. They did, because they didn't have $3bn (their funding network is extensive and very well understood...I live in the UK, there are tens of halwas in pretty much every city).

Your point is incorrect (again, the 9/11 Commission is a good source if you actually want to educate yourself).
