Basic income and necessary jobs

So that kind of contradicts the point of equality and fairness of UBI doesn't it. In current system if my child gets cancer and rich child gets cancer they are both covered for unlimited amount via NHS. >With your idea if my child gets cancer and I can't afford premium rare cancer package of health insurance my child dies. I think I would rather stay as things are than live in a world where economic value of my child is the only factors that matter and as you say some lives are more important than others.

Rich peoples' lives are more important than our lives in the current system. That's how I see it anyways. I'd be happy to be convinced otherwise.

What you describe stands in direct contrast with what people claim is reason behind UBI.

Yes, I disagree with most people on the reasons for UBI. I see it as a necessity born out of principle (much like Guy Standing describes it) rather than born out, say, a need to combat poverty or technological unemployment. Those just happen to be good side effects.

I can't help the vibe from you that as long as you get your UBI world can burn around you and everyone can suffer as long as you are fine it is okay.

Well everyone should feel this way. You can't prevent all suffering around you, so why not learn to be okay with it?
