I just recently got into makeup a few months ago. And for me I've found through experimenting with different products that there's always a few things I keep going back to.

• I always make sure I have at least one nude matte lipstick and one dark red matte lipstick. I'm not very big on wild and out there colors, so I stick with what I know I'll like, that way I always have something to fall back on. I really like milani and maybelline for matte lipstick. Also, matte is just a personal preference, but I would suggest having at least two lipsticks that you adore.

• For blush I personally use NYX and I'm really happy with them. Blush is, at least to me, a little less of a difficult product to figure out. But maybe I just go too light with my blush lol.

• I also have a mascara that I absolutely love. I personally really like maybelline and E.L.F for that. They're inexpensive drugstore brands and I find that clump crusher is really good, and doesn't flake or get runny.

• I also have one eyeshadow palette that I can't live without. Currently I use the bare essentials line of milani for good everyday nude eyeshadow palettes. they're somewhere around $10 at the drugstore, maybe less, very affordable and easy to use. I find that they're very pigmented, and when used over an eye primer, they stay on all day.

So, I'd suggest getting a go to lipstick, mascara, and eyeshadow palette. And maybelline and milani are my go to drugstore brands. But I've used covergirl for their single eyeshadows and their foundation and those are both good. E.L.F has good quality affordable makeup, a lot of things are like $3 to $6 in that brand. Wet n Wild also has a good range of eyeshadow trios and palettes for very affordable prices and their single shades are like $1 and can be found even at the dollar tree.
