Basic Questions, Player Advice, Rulings, & Venting Weekly [Megathread]

Hey guys, newish player here. been playing for around a month and chose to main dragunity as it seemed to be one of the cheaper and easier decent decks out there. this has hapenned before but it’s been hapenning ever more frequently since I got to legend 4 and seems to happen the most against DM decks. Sometimes I just can’t seem to be able to activate ascalon or senatu’s effects when they should be able to (having multiple dragunities in grave for asc and 1 other in hand for senatus). whenever it happens I instantly read all the effects of every card in the guy’s deck after the duel but nothing seems to be the cause. so the question is, are they modding, is it a glitch or am I missing something?
