Battery replacement must be ‘easily’ achieved by consumers in proposed European law

Then the manufacturer should have oem spare parts and batteries for sale. They used to. You could easily buy a spare Nokia battery years ago, same went for Sony Ericsson and most manufacturers. It wasn't a big deal until it stopped being a thing. Now it's impossible to get official spares unless you are an official repair channel and even then a lot of spares are flat out not available. Shouldn't have to buy a whole new laptop when one tiny capacitor dies on the main power board..... 15cents vs a couple grand. I know what I'd choose

I'm all for the right to repair as it stops aggressive tactics from the manufacturer. A lot of products are specifically built with fixings that have to be destroyed to be taken apart. Or that irreversibly damage the product in some way. Same goes for warranty stickers. If you own the product you should be able to repair it and maintain it. Cars are getting worse in this regard. I honestly think some vehicle systems were implemented for minimal benefit but consistent damage and reduced car life. Look at the constant problems with EGR valves or DPF systems. Very miniscule benefits but cost loads to repair, are extremely awkward to replace and very often damage the engine too and clog it up.

Right to repair also allows for greater customisation and mods too. Modularity would help a lot of these problems
