I support the 1st Amendment. I support freedom of speech. Even if it is speech I don't agree with, I believe that our 1st Amendment is one of the greatest protections against tyranny this nation has ever devised.

I am not a White Nationalist, nor any other sort of racist.

But if a group gets a valid permit to have a demonstration (regardless of their beliefs), I do believe that they should not be assaulted by a mob simply because the majority (myself included) thinks their view is despicable.

Nor do I think it's okay (this should go without saying) for any group to start violence especially deadly violence like with a fucking car.

I honestly think that the police should have done a better job of protecting the repugnant (yet permitted) group during their demonstration.

At the risk of sounding like a Nazi/White Nationalist sympathizer (which I am 100% not) It is not okay for the State to "allow" a group to protest but then let the "mob" shut them down.

While I agree that Freedom of speech is not "Freedom from repercussions", the State can't tacitly squelch speech by allowing a mob to shut down a lawful demonstration.
