My two closest friends are men, and not the kind who are into makeup at all. Sometimes they might be fascinated by more flashy makeup I wear but for the most part they really don't notice.

A friend and I used to both like bright makeup and we talked about those a lot, but she stopped wearing most makeup and I became more into glam makeup. I'm part of an alternative fashion community and I'm always the default go-to person to ask advice about makeup. I know a few people in the group who are aware of all the makeup industry drama but I'm not close enough with them to chat about it (perhaps I should reach out to them and make more friends). Finally I have a few friends who are into vintage fashion and while they are usually into makeup, their makeup routine are a bit more routine and constrained so there's not a whole lot to talk about.
