so whats the point in wasting our time and money trying to process recycled material? shouldn't we just cut out losses and transition away from material that won't decompose at all costs as soon as possible? why is recycling even a topic anymore? it clearly is not sustainable to try to recycle the world's plastic. the pile will only get bigger and bigger, it's snowball effect. stop it now and mitigate damage. we're not helping anyone out by spending 30 minutes organizing and picking through garbage to try to recycle 20 pieces of plastic that are going to get thrown in some Malaysian river 3 years from now. we are actually just improving our land at the expense of other peoples' land which is WORSE in my opinion. i'd rather the US be trashed than send it all to some innocent third world country so they can all have dead end polluted careers as trash pickers and salvagers.
