Korean here from a very traditional family. I have not mentioned having a boyfriend ever to my parents until my current bf.

My mom asked me if I was lesbian because she could not fathom how I could be single all these years. I wasn't. I just didn't want to tell her or my dad.

I think as a culture, until we decide to mary, 90% of asian couples do not i troduce their SO or bf to their parents bc they can get pretty nosy.

While I wouldn't count it against him, I wonder why he is lying to you about how his relationship is horrible with them and whatnot. Ask him to just be truthful that youre okay with him not introducing you to his parents and what is really going on his head.
