Been on gabapentin for a month to treat idiosyncratic neuropathy, started to have bad side effects and went cold turkey. I experienced the worst withdrawals of my life and I feel fucking scared.

Is the risk for seizure really high if you don't have epilepsy? I had a seizure two years ago after I stopped taking my prescribed xanax. Found gabapentin recently, thought it was a safe alternative but am not prescribed it so I was taking random dosages (sometimes as high as 1,500 but usually 900 max) at random times for the past 2 months or so. I'm basically terrified of having a seizure to the point where I haven't been able to stop taking it and am debating on telling my doctor, but I don't want to be labeled a drug addict and get my medication that helps me function taken away from me. I'm really just wondering if you know how common it is or isn't to seize during withdrawal.. if I had known that this drug was anything like benzos I would have never, ever taken it the way that I did.
