It has been over 1 year since I made the jump from only torrents to primary usenet. Some thoughts, tips, and other musings here.

You guys would have a field day over at /r/plexshares, or any other half a dozen subs on reddit that are specifically about distributing pirated data.

I share with people I personally I know in real life, but there are people, a short sub reddit hop away, that advertise there servers looking for more people, detailing what they have on it, for various intent and purpose.

I mention what I have in passing, during a long text about the journey between torrents and usenet, and it seems like what you guys are getting hung up on. The amount here seems to be shocking to some, and I find it baffling on /r/usenet that people are you know, using usenet for this kinda of thing. When things like sonarr and sickbeard are linked right in the sidebar.

The funny thing is, not even probably 25% of that even comes from usenet. Yet people make assumptions about how my actions are some how "destroying usenet" as they know it.

The top tier TV package from Comcast costs $150.00 in my area, and even that package is not even close to the level of service FrostyWolf is disclosing here.

How could you even possibly be able to guess what level of "service" I am providing? How could you possibly know what shows I track, what networks they are on, how much of my selection is old or new...a 10 dollar netflix account offers over 10s of thousands of shows and movies.

You act like I brought together a cult of people that all "cut the cord" in favor of some hypothetical pirate-flix I am running and pay me monthly for it, while I fulfill their every desire, based off...what, a 6 month old screen shot and a sentence? Please.

I don't justify any of my actions, they are what they are. I feel no need to. I know what I am doing and don't try to blame my actions on anything. But you guys falsely accusing and making baseless claims in, of all places, /r/usenet, is just amazing. This place has a topic every week where people are bragging about how much bandwidth they used last month. What do you think they are using it on, linux distros?

I could tell you what mine and family and friends situations are, but I could tell you whats on the server in PM, I could even screen shot plex watch and show you who is watching what and how much...but what would it matter? /u/anal_full_nelson seems dead set on pegging me as some kind of pirateflix mongol, no matter what is told to him, and like I said before, I don't feel the need to justify the actions that I DO do, and a certainly don't need to justify the ones that he assumes I do.

Subreddits are supposed to be a community of free thought and discussion of like minded individuals. My decision to post his here was to provide and get feed back, which I did. I would have appreciated /u/anal_full_nelson input and would have loved to have a rational discussion with him, but the reason he is getting downvoted is because he is being anything but rational. He is arguing basless semantics about how I am destroying usenet, based on nothing but a snippet of info, and then when given more info, instead of being, you know, a human being in a subreddit of like minds and going "O, thanks for clearing that up for me, I see what you mean, but may I offer this counter point though?" in which we would work back in forth, he seems fit to dismiss everything I say, even going as far as just going "I have no reason to believe any of that" while copy and pasting the same responses over and over again.

And why, why would I bother lying? To justify my actions to a bunch of people I don't know on the internet? To "cover up" something? Please. Why would I care? I use 12 separate indexers, and while I like dog the most, there are other indexers that offer similar services. My provider? They are a dime a dozen. What would I gain from lying? What would the point be?

Yet here we are, hours of "discussion" (and I use the term lightly) and he is still making posts and reply about how I'm the anti-Christ of usenet.

As far as "dangerously close to admitting a felony" holy crap, have you guys BEEN around reddit? There are popular sub reddits I can't even MENTION here because they break rule number one, nevermind the collective amount of chatter on reddit about things illegal BESIDES piracy.

You know what though? You guys win. I didn't come here to step on toes, I didn't come here for a fight, and I sure as heck didn't come here to to be lectured to. A discussion is one thing, but damn.

In one hour I'll hose the thread, get what you want out if it by then, but if its so dangerous and controversial to some, I just don't have the energy or the time to steer it on topic.

No hard feelings to you /u/JanitorJoe, and same to you /u/anal_full_nelson, and to prove it, by 12:30 EST this will be no more.

Take it as you will, believe what you want, but I'm done with it.
