Confidence is good. But there are different kinds of confidence.
There’s the empty confidence of the PUA. I’m not a big fan of that.
The best confidence, in my opinion, comes from reflexivity and a learning mindset.
“Yes, I’m good at this, but I confidently acknowledge that I can always be better. I’m confident enough to adapt and acknowledge my failings. This is always a work in progress.”
This sort of confidence is more resilient. It can tolerate a session that doesn’t work out. You can change and adapt.
You’re most likely aware of that - but it’s worth noting, because so many folks conflate “confidence” with the wrong kind of swagger.
