Beginner to Arch?

First off, Welcome to Linux! Second of all, don't be intimidated. It takes a little while to get used to linux and learn some of the commands that'd you'd use most often. Now, I promise, most people that use linux barely even know 1/32th of the commands that are involved with linux.. Including myself. I still learn new commands each and every day and I've been switching between linux distros for 10 years now.. and I'm only 23..

Now, for Arch.. Yes, it's not your typical plug in the USB and click install type distro. Arch linux was designed with full and total user customization in mind. There is a lot to Arch, but you don't need to know it all. I recommend to take a few days and read up on the arch wiki - https://wiki.archlinux.org/

You can use this guide I created as a beginner friendly template of installing arch, but refer to the arch wiki linked above for anything that you may not understand completely. - https://pastebin.com/bTHNedAY

Again, don't feel intimidated. Once you do it one time, it almost becomes natural. Don't feel discouraged if you mess up, just reformat and restart.. I'd even recommend doing a couple front to back installs of Arch in a virtual machine first so you don't brick up your machine the first go around of doing it. Like I said, I've been using linux for 10 years, literally since I was 13 and just switched to Arch full-time this year.

I use Arch Linux daily, so if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to post back or message me personally. I probably can't help much tonight as it's 3AM for me at the time of posting, but I'm usually around on the linux subreddits helping out.

Cheers, and again! Welcome!
