Behind the line please

I worked at Penn Station in high school. People would come in at 9:45 pm like clockwork, but rarely decide to stick around to eat. I was once fired (then unfired the next day) when some lady ordered for her family and noticed I wasn't speaking with her more than necessary (it was 9:58 pm and the store was empty on a Wednesday - I had school at 7 am). She decided to announce after I wrapped her sandwiches that she would be eating in. I still didn't say anything. Then she sent her kid who was my age up to the counter and whispered, "Have him wrap your sandwich, he'll love that." It was 10:30 pm at this time. The look in that kid's eyes as he handed me his half eaten chicken parm made me pity him so much. Mind you, I didn't say anything to this cow the entire time other than required to get their food orders and her change.

She approached my boss while he was out with his family the literal next day. I have no idea how she ran into him or how she even knew who he was. She handed him a receipt with my name on it and said that I was very rude to her. I came into work on my next shift a few days later and saw I was sharpie'd off of the calendar. Then the GM came into the store and apologized saying he just didn't print a new one yet and that the night manager confirmed that the lady was a massive bitch and trying to unsuccessfully get a rise out of me.

Man, I hated working in fast food.
