why is being honest on reddit the equivalent to being a troll?

There's little room for facts and opinions that deviate from what has been determined to be acceptable. Besides, certain words and phrases are very very dangerous.

Due to technological advances and modern day improvements in ballistics and verbal munitions, mere words have power like never before. Back in the linguistic stone age, ditties like, "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me" were effective defensive strategies against the potential harm caused by words. This is not longer the case.

Modern day advances in ballistic assault word technology together with intercontinental delivery systems like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and of course, Reddit, dangerous thermonuclear wordplay can be launched to multiple global targets reaching their intended targets almost instantly- and causing maximum destruction and injury.

That's not considering collateral damage when innocent bystanders are forced to witness once proud participants in today's advanced compassion culture of helicopter parenting and participation trophies be reduced to sobbing fetal balls, inconsolably rocking back and forth on the floor and sobbing uncontrollably because some brutish cad from a far away country had the unmitigated gall to down vote an original meme they spent hours and hours creating was mediocre.

People need to use great care and caution when deploying words around other people. There needs to be word safety courses taught so that innocent and sensitive members of the public don't sustain grievous injury because some heartless cad refuses to put his tongue in the "safety" position.
