Being poor definitely causes more depression than any other factor in my life

I went to a therapist who advertised as also guidance counselor years ago. Yes I was a little depressed too but mostly cause I didn't make enough money. First session I go over my life and I'm just not happy with my job I'm close to maxed out in pay and it's not enough, I put all my schooling into this one type of job, single dad, im getting by but not comfortably, I need guidance on whether to go back to school how to manage my time off to be able to do school etc, what should I do, what's my options, what do other people do in this situation. She's like well I'd recommend 2 sessions a week and we can get this worked out. I'm like ok how long does it take to guide me in the right direction. She said well it just all depends. Do a few sessions and it's just garbage to get me to come back to another session leaving me with maybe we'll figure it out next time. Once my insurance stopped covering which was like 4 sessions or whatever I was like welp I'm done.
