Being a rapper and being good at delivery are different things

omg it annoys me so much when a new songs drops and i go check what people think, and it's something like "omg my baby wrote these lyrics literally the best part of the song"and the said lyrics are the most atrocious thing you've read in your life. that's just obsession and fake love towards the song. there is definitely a difference between idols who rap and rappers who are idols. and that becomes really visible in the solo works. i think the judgement comes from fans hyping them up. when you want to check out a group, and you go to read about them, and the fans go "member X is such an amazing rapper!!! they even have writing credits in some songs!! outraps your faves" so people read that, and get high hopes and expectations
