Is being a young parent really that bad?

When you make an uncommon choice people always have lots to say about it.

I had my two before I was 22. People either commend me or condemn me. There are very few people with no opinion on it.

My cousins are very well established, well traveled, fairly wealthy for their age, etc. in their mid 30s. I couldn’t imagine slogging through the drudgery of infancy and toddlerhood after doing everything they’ve done already.

I kind of enjoy that my kids are part of my uphill battle and not just a period at the end of my fun years like some people treat it.

I just wouldn’t want the whole “well we had a lot of fun and now it’s time to settle down and have children” mentality. Makes having kids seem like you’re dying.
