It's a defamation case plain and simple. If it was anything else then it would specificy as such. No one is out here confusing privacy and defamation. That is a big reach.

A quick Google search will show you that this is in fact a defamation case brought against the family of the victim child. Common sense and the court ruling against the assailant both will show you that this whole defamation case has no grounds to stand on. Furthermore you will see that the only reason this case is being brought forward nearly a year after the incident is because the assailant was handed a suspended sentence by the court and their next court date is coming up in a week. The victims family has stated that the assailant previously asked them to drop the charges against him and was unremorseful. It's not surprising that he would do something like this solely to have charges dropped and the timing is further evidence for that.
