How much does Valtrex generally help in terms:

1) reducing the severity of symptoms?

2) reducing the frequency of symptoms occurring?

3) reducing the duration of each outbreak?

4) reducing transmission?

My current symptoms really aren't that bad, at least so far. Aside from the initial itching that lasted a few hours, it's just been one medium-sized blister and two tiny blisters around the base of my shaft. I can't even feel it, it's a visual thing.

IF this is the first outbreak and this is the worst this thing it's going to get, then I'm not worried from a pain perspective. I do worry about how it will impact my sex life, though - both in terms of not being able to have sex on a very regular basis when I would desire to do so and in terms of transmitting HSV-2 to a partner.
