Do you believe any weapon the military has access to a civilian should also have access to?

Small arms yes, everything else maybe

TLDR: jackass who served in two militaries says all good until the other guy has the same deadly weapon.

I served in the military of a country where a civilian could easily get a grenade, RPGs, occasionally as SAM, and other things. We have a few 'warlords'/politicians that have/had T-54 tanks.

These weapons do not get used as much as the American left claim they would or as often as you think they would. Bank robbers do not carry a grenade in to rob the bank very often, it is done occasion but by no means routine.

The problem comes when you upset a political party, they flex their muscle but do not go full rebel because we have the power to to use the military internally.

However, I served as a US soldier in Iraq and several other African countries on FID. When civil order breaks out having these weapons makes it impossible to restore internal order until these weapons are expended.

In the US I love having what I have, I would love to own a PIG for the fun of shooting it, I would love to sit an Apache on my front lawn for kicks. However I do not want the gangs having grenades and RPGs.

I do not want bill gates and Soros to finance their own armies.

As a vet I will automatically trust any other vet, however I am surprised an oif/oef vet has not come home and started using IEDs in gang warfare. But the same did not really happen after Vietnam either, so maybe having grenades and RPGs in the hands of civilians will not result in their use.

As one who has seen revolution several times, sometimes intimately, the people should have access to full on MBTs and aircraft to put down a tyrannical government.
