My mother was bipolar before bipolar was really treatable and was basically a guinea pig for whatever the doctors came up with. The results for her were not good to say the least but the experimentation paid off for my bipolar cousins and nieces who are able to live relatively stable lives.

I'm not saying what was done to you was in any way right or acceptable, especially since you were a child and had no say in the matter. I'm truly sorry you had to endure experimental treatment, I know how horrible it can be. Unfortunately, since your parents gave permission for these "treatments" I don't believe it likely the doctors would be found liable for malpractice. That said, I think you should definitely speak with a medical malpractice attorney and get a professional opinion. I wish you the best outcome possible.
