Why do you believe in complete gun control?

Liberals never believed in total gun control. That misconception really stems from conservatives who have the most extreme stance, believing that anyone who disagrees sits on the most extreme opposite end of the issue. A current example would be as follows; Many conservatives believe in a strong national defense, and since they see Islam as a threat to the nation, they want to ban citizens of muslim countries from entering the united states. Others tend to take a step back and be realistic, saying we can't rightfully assume someone of a certain faith will enter the country just to carry out acts of terrorism, and hardline conservatives think we're literally on our knees, begging for sharia law, while licking muhammed's nutsack. This applies to the gun control issue. Conservatives think everyone should be armed to the teeth with the most powerful weapons possible, and when someone says maybe certain weapons should be classified as more dangerous, so those with mental illnesses can't obtain them, you have Alex Jones telling you that the left wants to literally disarm everyone and put them in fema camps. It's just ridiculous. It's assuming everyone is as radicalized as you in their beliefs, and seeing no in between.
