I thought about it for a minute and you're right, but it's different. I thought about it this way:

Imagine Whiteknights as a company, like Pixar. And Simps is then Disney.

If I buy Pixar, I only have access to Pixar assets, but if I buy Disney,, I have access to both Disney's assets as well as Pixar's assets.

In this case, a simp will feature everything a white knight does and more. While a white knight might not give me access to other simping features.

But Pixar is still a self-functioning and autonomous entity that operates separately from Disney.

My culture raises men to consider women as dainty and to be taken care of (old-fashioned and traditional mentality). These kind of men step in to protect the woman because they literally believe the woman can't, or shouldn't have to, take care of themselves, not because of a crumb. After the woman is fine, they move on. My uncles are like this, for instance, and they're definitely not simps, they're just old fashioned.
