Ben Askren Says Conor McGregor Won't Fight Him, Because His Style 'Steals Your Manhood'

To be fair, your point is pretty much correct. If you don't care about image, if you don't care about legality, if you don't care about the psychological aspect of a fighter beyond "will x beat y?" Then it shouldn't matter.

I'm not saying Conor was secretly a winner and is sitting in a chair sipping on proper 12 and rewatching the eagle flying.

I'm saying that in the mind of this viewer, I never thought that Conor would get a rise out of him.

I wanted Conor to win, that's true. But only because i was rooting for the underdog.

When a friend asked me, going into the fight, who I thought would win, my answer was "as long as he doesn't try and be Matt Hughes against bj Penn, khabib is where my money is."

An all star grappled versus an all star striker is how the UFC got started.

Grappled wins 90% of the time.

But when you look back and you see the promotions, and the press conferences, and then ESPN special, and the youtube videos. What does khabib always represent?

Typically it's the cool to Conor's hot.

I'm 'tryinf' (and failing apparently) to talk about how the fight didn't surprise me because khabib is the highest class matchup Conor has had especially coming off a break.

What surprised me was that khabib snapped and attacked someone (albeit a dick) who he shouldn't have. And I think that counts for something because it affected me.
