Bernie Sanders: The Democratic primary gave me 'leverage I intend to use' to pressure Hillary Clinton

You can't show up in a presidential year and demand that the Dems give you everything you want, because where exactly were you in 2010 when the GOP destroyed everyone at the polls, or in 2014 when everything got even worse?

You seem to mistake a DNC failure for something else. Isn't it the literal goal of the political party to do this, to organize this?

Right now the base is comprised of the people who showed up in 2006 to actually get things done.

The ones that also got things done in 10 and 14 right?

Blacks make up 22% of the DNC, a larger amount than is populationally proportional, but it's still 78% short. All minorities together makes up 40%.

Now here's a questions. Do young black people vote better than young white people? If not you should rephrase that, you make it sound like all the minorities, and all the old white people are there and it's just those young upstart whities that need to fix their shit. Instead you should rephrase it to "young people can't be the base, cus they weren't there 10 years ago". Which is a great way to measure that if you're looking backwards. The youth vote is perpetually important moving forward, defining "base" in old school political terms is mostly score keeping. It's right there with "You haven't earned what we earned". The truth is that last election cycle doesn't mean shit, the next one is always the one that matters. Your "base" should be viewed off of the next election, not the last. At least if you want it to be a useful metric beyond history.
