Bernie Sanders: The Democratic primary gave me 'leverage I intend to use' to pressure Hillary Clinton

If you want change, if you want certain things put into action you need to work for them, advocate for them, vote and support politicians who make it more likely for those things to happen. Sitting around and pouting that someone else isn't doing the work to accomplish your goals helps nothing.

I organized walk outs in high school. I've participated in countless marches and protests, campaigned for representatives that supported my ideals, I've joined advocacy groups and raised money for causes important to me. I vote in all elections I am eligible for. I'm baffled by those of you sitting on your hands and asking "but what do you have to offer me" and expecting the world to cater to you. I know what I want out of government and I've made damn sure my voice is heard and have found others who support my causes in order to make that voice louder. You want something, fucking work for it like the people who have been involved and fighting for what they want for years and decades. No one owes you shit, and those people who have been involved for years aren't going to abandon what they've worked for because you want to be catered to.
