My impression of this interview is that they were clearly trying very hard to "get him", and he did fairly well considering. It is obvious Hillary supporters will still try as hard as they can to push this narrative that he botched this. All you can really get from is that he is even honest enough to admit when he doesn't have specifics at hand, he isn't trying to bullshit his way through if he isn't sure the answer.

This lack of specific details of the nature they are asking, to me in no way signifies a problem in my viewing of this interview. I am a software engineer, when I am proposing projects to my team, I explain what the high level objectives of the project are, I do not go into excruciating detail about how each subsystem will work, in fact I would be wasting time even planning that part to such detail before starting. Pragmatically speaking, you find ways to get through the problems by adjusting it as you go and gain more information. Why do we pretend like government works any differently?

This specific policy detail thing is a total crock of shit anyway. It's not like he doesn't know that Africa is not a country, he routinely recites names of world leaders long forgotten by all but us history buffs, he sometimes is criticized for being far too verbose for the crowds of people he is speaking to.

Anyway, when is the last time you saw a president actually enact the vast majority of the things they propose on the campaign trail? Presidents are way higher level in their problem solving, they have researchers, policy writers, and experts in various positions, constant streams of information and they use all of this to implement policy. Presidents decide what direction to go, their people figure out the best ways of getting there.

And that is really the crux of the problem here for Hillary. Sanders supporters problems with Hillary have more to do with how she would lead, than her ability to regurgitate bits of information on plans she will drop immediately upon the pivot to the center, or shortly after getting elected. I would pay money to watch Hillary get grilled like this just once, though it would be grilled about a far different subject matter which her lack of dooms either us or her, integrity .
