Bernie Sanders Says U.S. Has No Science-Based Reopening Policy: '50 States Going it Alone'

I agree with you, it's ridiculous to reopen. But I'm trying to be at peace with the fact that this is just how it's going to be.

We shut down for two months, to buy time for our federal government to fix things. That was the deal. That was the whole point. But the cavalry never came, and likely never will: No real testing, no real financial help, no plan. Just a wasted two months, with now 1/4 of America jobless, broke, and soon to be hungry, if not already.

At this point, I don't know what "too early to open yet" means: What does waiting longer accomplish? Delaying what's going to happen anyway, except we'll be even poorer and less employed, and maybe homeless?

I also agree with the "feeding capitalism" sentiment, but it's also "feeding ourselves". The clowns currently running the circus don't believe in government intervention, or a social safety net, or even being humane. Just literally work or die, like a third world country. They already raided the piggy bank and gave it to billionaires and corporations. We're on our own.

It's great you have savings and options. I do too, I could hide at home for a long time. Besides work (manufacturing), I will, except for necessary food, and take-out to support small restaurants. But a lot of workers need customers right now, badly. NO HELP IS COMING.

I'm a hardcore liberal: Tax the rich, mobilize the federal government for medical response, bail out the needy, buy time, fix this shit, and then rebuild on a New Deal-level of public investment.

But that's not going to happen, at least in the next 8 months, if ever. Like I said, we're on our own. Good luck!
