Bernie Sanders won’t endorse his son for Congress, citing “dynasty politics”

This is what I like to hear. When I was growing up my father owned a regional chain of electronics stores with five locations around the state including two in the city we lived. We weren't super rich because every expansion cost him real money, but we weren't even close to struggling either.

When I was fifteen he took me aside and told me I had to find a job to pay for any luxuries I wanted (hobbies, dates, school sponsored trips etc.) and made it crystal clear that he was not going to let my first job be at one of his stores.

It was a sour spot at the time but his reasoning made so much sense once I was an adult. He didn't want to throw off the dynamic of one of his stores by giving even the slightest impression of special treatment. So, I spent most of high school working at a burger king instead.

When I graduated, I went to college and pursued my own path and earned everything I have now. Nepotism is bad, period. And dynastic political families are relics of a time we need to leave behind once and for all.
