Let me start with saying: he's had the surgery. That part is over.

My current (yep, I know) husband had horrible dental problems since before we met. I met him in his twenties. Bear this in mind: I met him while he was an employed adult, with benefits. He was helping his folks with some bills, but otherwise he had his own money. He is excellent at saving money, but bad at actually knowing when he needs to spend it.

Now, to the 'worst': Over the space of the twelve years we've been together, he has blamed me, my family, his own family, and even his job, for not having the necessary dental surgery when he was suffering the most. He needed ALL his teeth pulled, as they were all broken. But he tried to avoid it for as long as he could. We had even saved up together and each had dental insurance (previous jobs) so his surgery would have been covered. However, the week it came up, he called and cancelled the surgery. We'd already arranged for paid time off from our jobs and pre-approved the insurance.

So, when our luck ran out with our jobs a year or two later, he'd get an abcess and then it would be suddenly someone else's fault. This happened several times before I finally stopped him, and said, "You know, you're in your late twenties (at the time), and you've blamed me, my family, YOUR family, and your job. When is it YOUR fault, for not having the surgery when it was paid for and we had jobs that supported it?"

He actually tried this argument a couple more times, including once after the surgery was finally completed and he'd healed. I stopped him with the same argument. He hasn't brought it up in over a year, but it still pisses me off.
