Best Android TV Boxes for the Kodi Media Center

You're probably an alt account, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. I'm feeling chatty and neckbeardy. :)

It was just an assumption, no need to get all angry.

Then don't use argumentum ad aominem. This isn't about my hyperbole of "hundreds of boxes" (probably closer to 70), it's about shill advertising and false claims.

Processors aside, most of the no name Chinese companies that sell those boxes don't even put the time and energy into integrating the Android OS properly.

That's just not true. Firmware updates are released quite often and the OS works perfectly fine. If it's just a Kodi box, you probably won't even need them. A highly optimized Nougat or Marshmallow means nothing if you're just going to stream The Walking Dead.

I don't even know which $35 devices you're referring to, but I bet they don't even have FCC certification. What kind of warranty do you get on a $35 device? Most likely none.

What kind of funding does Xiaomi give tvaddons? Most likely some. This is Addons4Kodi. You are representing tvaddons. FCC certification is probably not a major concern among the subscribers. At $30-35, the average warranty is 30-60 days. You buy another one if it fails. Of all the boxes I've seen, only 2 have failed in the past 3 years.

The Xiaomi Mi Box came 2nd on our list and it's only $69, comes with a full year guarantee and is manufactured by the 4th largest smartphone manufacturer in the world.

Processors unaside, it's the same SOC stuffed inside a Xiaomi box. For double the price you get a year warranty for the same hardware that will last just as long.

The list was about "the best" and NOT about "what's the cheapest way to get Kodi working on a box that is sold by a no-name fly-by-night brand that includes no warranty."

The best box for Kodi is the one that will run it the cheapest and most reliable way. Your sales tactic of berating the smaller no-name fly-by-night warranty-less competition that USE THE EXACT SAME HARDWARE just makes tvaddons look bad.

u/tvaddonsdotag 's reply was fine until he used the cliche personal attack. Just concede the product is the same and argue your service is better. Discuss advantages of the warranty instead of straw manning the competition.

I'm not a reseller but I'll certainly be telling people to avoid Xiaomi because their representatives are hostile.
