Best antivirus?

Depends on whether you want to pay or get one for free. Thing is neither one is complete in terms of protection.

This is a basic level comparison of free vs paid AV (taken from another social media site):

Free Antivirus Software : When it comes down to free Antivirus software, it usually comes with minimum protection, no technical support and lack of features. But if you hardly ever shop on line and use your credit card information online, Free antivirus is the way to go.

Benefits are :

Perfect for home users that just occasionally browse the internet and play games. Do not shop online and use their credit cards online. protects you against common Viruses and Spyware.

Disadvantages are :

Lack of support. Users can get bombarded with annoying popups, banner ads, or intrusive advertising urging you to upgrade to full version. May not always effetely detect viruses and spyware. Paid Antivirus : Paid Antivirus Software provides the Rolls Royce in protection, from Antivirus, Spyware, Malware, and Firewall Protection, the extra features can be endless. Most of these add-on will be updated automatically and you get real time protection against the latest threads.

Benefits are :

Tech support when you need it Real Time Protection in Antivirus, Malware, Spyware and even Firewall Additional extras to protect your identity online, perfect for people who shop online.

Disadvantages are :

Some do not support anti-phishing. (Phishing is the act of attempting to acquire information such as usernames, passwords, and credit card details in email communication) Some companies only provide support by Phone, which isn’t ideal if you live on the other side of the word.

And from another:

Paid anti-virus have a lot of features. The basic functionality of virus scanning, detection, cloud detection and probably heuristics are usually part of the free version. What paid versions of software can give you are more thorough and specific defense against major malware groups. Ransomware, Trojans, Viruses, Adware/browser hijackers. Explicitly checking for such issues (They also include bigger and more thorough databases for each group), that leads to slightly better protection. In addition to that, you usually get decent 24/7 support. MUCH better? Not really. Better? Sure.

Personally I use Bitdefender free AV for my Win7 x64, alongside AdwCleaner, Zemana Antimalware free, and rkill and SUPER AntiSpyware free on need basis. I do a lot of shit, that's why.
