Best build for a melee Hexblade Warlock/Divine Soul Sorcerer?

Worth mentioning the following:

Hexblade 2/Sorc X: A build that many people argue for. Two levels in warlock gets you - arguably - all you need because invocations are lovely and often more useful than your pact boon.

This build mostly leans on being an Eldritch Blast Gatling Gun. Since the number of beams you get for Eldritch Blast is based on your character level - not your warlock level - you’ll get multiple beams pretty quickly. You can then quicken it to cast it twice in one round. If you take the Agonizing Blast invocation, then at 5th level you can hit for 4d10+CHA damage...+4d6 of all cast on a hexed target (4 beams at 1d10+CHA each, plus 1d6 for each beam that hits a hexed target). You can then consume your Pact Spell Slots with your Sorc character features to regain sorcery points and do it again (takes a few turns since consuming a slot costs a BA), and regain those on a short rest.

It does mean you’ll still be casting a lot instead of going melee, but if someone comes too close, you can still give them a good smack with your weapon and booming blade/green-flame blade.

Now, if you build that way, you’ll eventually want Warcaster so you can keep your sword and shield out all the time (and for advantage on con saves).

If you go Hex 3/Sorc x, you don’t need warcaster in theory because improved pact weapon will make your weapon an arcane focus.

I recommend taking level 1 in Sorc regardless because it’ll give you proficiency in CON saves and many of your best spells (like hex) need concentration.

I’ve played both, and they’re both loads of fun.
