Best Carribean island to visit mid-June?

Grenada would pretty much tick all your boxes. I spent 6 weeks there housesitting and spent less than $1500 including airfare from Europe, going out to some of the nicer places, activities, gas to drive all around the island.

The main beach is great and never gets too crowded, but there are so many secluded beaches which you might have all to yourself, and several with great beach bars.

The locals were so welcoming and always happy to help.

There are some great viewpoints (look up welcome rock Grenada) which you can easily find by driving around a bit or going on a tour. There's also a weekly hike through different parts of the island and it's a great way to meet locals, expats, and explore the slightly more remote area without getting lost. Also lots of great waterfalls that aren't difficult to get to.

Food is great with lots of local options and also more Western ones.

What I loved most was how not touristy it was - it's touristy enough to have great infrastructure, but not so touristy that there are high rise buildings.

Congratulations on your secret elopement, we are hoping to do the same this year!
