Best Co-Pilot Ever [f]

Driving under the influence is worse than driving sober. For anybody. It's been proven time and time again. Some people less so than others, often much less than people texting/drinking, but still to some degree. Driving cautiously is one thing (and a good one!) but reaction times can be the difference between life and death when somebody pulls out on you on a roundabout.

A couple of years ago I was passenger in a car with two others including the driver. Driving back from a friends, had just got dark, all a little under the influence. Something we'd done 4/5 times a week for the best part of 2 years. Next minute we're in a tree, the drivers knocked out and has part of the car embedded in his head, the front passenger is dead. Had the driver been sober, maybe he'd have reacted to the turning a little sooner and we wouldn't have hit the tree. Say no to that last joint if you're heading home that night, or just bring a sleeping bag or something.

Even if you're stuck in some bubble believing you're a safe driver while high, what happens when somebody hits you and it gets fobbed off as you under the influence? Easy way to get it criminalized again.

It's clear here that she's the passenger sure, but it's also clear to see why people are going to jump to conclusions. Also other countries where the drivers seat is on the other side :)

Toke on man :)
