Best Decks for N/R Event!

Finally finished with the missions. Here is the deck list in the case anyone wants to try it out.

It mostly functions like any other INOV Metalfoes deck, minus Alkahest: Set up Counter, outresource the opponent, and probably OTK next turn. The twist is that I also run the Igknights; open two of them to search Great Shogun Shien, a floodgate monster you can pendulum summon out if your high scale is a Metalfoes. He prevents the opponent from activating more than one S/T per turn. Is it useful? Aside from winning the pendulum match-up it is rather hard to tell, as most other players usually prioritize getting rid of him. That is okay though, as that usually also trigger Metalfoes Counters. That, and you get style points Shien's summoning animation.

Generally, this deck has all the tools available to deal with the meta threats, with one exception.

  • Shien usually auto-wins pendulum matches.
  • Draglubion can be dealt with by summoning Mithrilium to bounce Heart-earth, make Amalgam with her while floating into Volflame, then popping Amalgam to equip it to Volflame to run over Draglubion. Alternatively, making Absolute Dragon or Volcasaurus under Cross-Sheep can decrease its Attack to the point you can battle it; that only works if it is in Attack mode.
  • Megalith is always an uphill battle if the opponent is competent. They have the ability to destroy multiple S/T, popping all the Counters and preventing swarming. Even if you aren't losing, the match is a slog to play because of their battle protection through the field spell. Also, as a Ritual deck that doesn't use ritual spells, they are mostly ignoring Shien.
  • The deck basically never normal summons. I used to run Baobaboon/Grampulse in there to have anything to NS, but I still only NSed around 8 times out of 50 by the time I made 20k medals. After the event extension I switched to Gadgets to fulfill that mission, then switched back to this one to clear the damage one. People seem to surrender less if you can swiftly OTK them instead of grinding them down with Draglubion.
