Russo comes out later that night and performs a shoot promo bascially firing Hogan on the spot in a profanity laden speech.

There's two sides the story and its up for debate on whether Hogan knew this was going to happen or not and the exact details of whether the Hogan promo was a shoot or not as part of a supposed longer storyline where Hogan gets jobbed to, throws a fit, and then comes back later during a tournament to win the title for real.

Either way Russo fired him later that night and I think its safe to say Russo went in to work for himself considering Tony Schiavone literally can't contain his "Fuck this shit" face the entire time.
