Best Friends Play Nier (Part 27)

Anyone else think that the whole "The bad guys weren't all that bad all along and you were the true asshole" thing is kinda...done with these days? Don't get me wrong, it's better than just having one-dimensional, cartoon villains who kick puppies and drink orphans' tears, but did anyone else see the deal with the shades a mile away?

I personally just find it kinda deflating in a game when all your efforts are trivialized like that and there's no way you could have possibly known without the game throwing it out as a curve ball at the end. If I absolutely must play the jerk, I'd at least like to know before hand.

I dunno, I feel it's in tons of games these days and is honestly just getting frustrating. To paraphrase Gaijin Goomba, media these days seems only interested in humanity at its worst, harsh realities as entertainment. You're born, life stinks, you die, and that's it. Personally, it'd be nice to play the hero again.

That being said, I do like Nier's story and I find it interesting.
