I'm going to copy and paste what I said to another comment even if it doesnt directly apply here.
Well they were, Fate was also over-represented IMO though to a slightly lesser degree. I think it was more so a matter of picks for FMA, people got pissed because minor character from FMA were beating out characters with ease(See: Maes Hughes, and Alex Armstrong, ). Or beat people solely because they were in a popular series despite not being the most interesting or the better written character or even remotely "cool"(See: Hohenheim, Alphonse, Jean, Curtis ). Whereas all uninteresting, or side characters in fate got eliminated first round (Kuzuki, Assassin,F/SN Berserker,Kariya,F/Z Berserker ), or lost second round (Waver, and F/SN Lancer).
Thats what really got people pissed, the fact that these characters who were mainly there for comic relief or barely there at all got through in favor of more well written and frankly better characters. While in the end Fate now has more representation its because its the more adored characters of the main cast. Albeit FMA also weeded out the bad characters and now only the best remain (I am STILL fucking salty that Louis "Comic Relief" Armstrong beat Scar. He should've made it to the semi-finals not Armstrong.)
I think things are fine as they are now, at this rate I feel as though its either going to be fate or FMA dominating the finals no matter how you look at it, and its bracket B thats going to change it.
Bracket A we already know is Kiritsugu
Bracket C Is very much most likely Roy Mustang as he is not only a popular character, but a genuinely good one at that.
Then we have Bracket B, which as Edward Elric as well as Rider and Gilgamesh. Gilgamesh is most likely going to beat Kamina, but that leaves us with Ed and Rider. I feel as though Ed is going to beat rider and then it comes down to Edward vs Gilgamesh. No matter who wins this now theres going to be atleast 2 from one franchise in the finals.
So before people start getting on the anti-fate train because they won both last time remember that FMA is just as big as Fate at this point. No matter who wins everyone else is outnumbered here, thats why the only logical choice here is...
Or we can not fucking care what franchise people are from and vote based on how good the character is, but eh that requires people to be reasonable.
