Best websites to watch for highly modded cars?

You know why people really don't wanna buy modded cars? It has little to do with the "bought not built" stigma.

Modded cars means other people's work. How many of those people do you think are engineers or are people who know their shit well enough to ensure a factory finish type job? Yeah, I've seen plenty of good mods done and plenty of shitty ones too. It's almost a 50/50 chance the mods were done right. Are you gonna take that bet?

Do you know how to recognize properly built mods? Because usually that takes some experience building mods too. It's hard to just look at shit and just know unless you've got the experience to do so. It's why everyone says to get a PPI done, even on factory stock cars.

Plus, you have to take their word there's nothing wrong or it doesn't get ungodly hot for no good reason. Those mazdaspeed6 engines are not perfect, and they're getting hard to get parts for unless you upgrade. I believe they were also first generation direct injection motors, so do some research if you're expecting it to last long with mods. Some dude has a post on here, his MS6 motor popped and he was without the car for like a year and half trying to get replacement motors and parts.

Without the experience and knowledge that come with/are required to do mods in the first place, it's extremely hard to properly maintain a heavily modified car, and also harder to diagnose/troubleshot when things do go bad.

THAT BEING SAID

If you really wanna and you know your shit I'd 100% go for it and don't worry about the bought not built stigma you were worried about catching shit for. This is just a situation that you might find yourself in over your head on if you don't know what you're doing.
