Bethesda 35 years from now...

  • Evil Within 2 is a sequel so not a new IP plus Bethesda is only publishing the game, not making it.
  • Wolfenstein 2 is a sequel so not a new IP plus Bethesda is only publishing the game, not making it.
  • Dishonored game is pretty much standalone DLC for Dishonored 2. So, it's DLC to a sequel so definitely not a new IP plus Bethesda is only publishing the game, not making it.
  • The Elder Scrolls Online Morrowind is an expansion that is literally already out and available. Might as well have shown a trailer for Prey as well. Oh wait, that brings me to my next point...
  • Fallout 4 VR looks neat but VR is still a very small population of the gaming community because it's pretty damn expensive to get on top of a console or PC. But guess what? It's still Fallout 4. A game made by Bethesda... that mostly everyone has already played.
  • Doom VFR is... well, at least it's a separate game from the recent Doom based on the graphics. But we still have the whole VR thing being a small minority for gaming right now so it really doesn't mean much to many people.
  • Skyrim on the Switch. The umpteenth time Bethesda has milked a game that is six years old. The original release, the Legendary/GOTY edition, the Special Edition, and now the Switch edition. Ho boy, now that they're done with Fallout 4 VR, can't wait for Skyrim VR for yet another rerelease.

Do you not see how fucking annoying that is? Of all of the handful of games shown amongst a needless "Bethesdaland" pre-recorded message, only three things shown were new, as in things we hadn't seen before: Dishonored, Evil Within 2, Wolfenstein 2. All three of those are developed by other people, only published by Bethesda. But even of those three, only two of them are actual full fledged sequels -- Dishonored might be a standalone game but it's as standalone as the upcoming Uncharted: Lost Legacy which is really only a glorified Uncharted 4 expansion.

That means Bethesda had nothing to show of their own stuff, of Fallout or Elder Scrolls, except rereleases of both Fallout 4 and Skyrim, one game we've had rereleased several times within 6 years and a game that just came out. Yes, full VR compatibility is cool. No, most people don't even have VR. Even if they did, it's still a game they most likely already played. And on top of that, they proudly announced paid mods again.
