Beto wants pre-k to 12 fully funded, teachers have living wage

No one but yourself has mentioned anything about research grants. We're talking about funding, stuff that covers tuition, not research. Of course researchers will still get their grants and students will still get their scholarships. Research grants only apply to research colleges and legally can not be spent on anything else, like tuition related costs such as professor salaries or unrelated equipment. State granted funding and grants are two different things for different purposes.

Although my two cents is that research grants should also be stopped as well unless all research is given into the public domain. Too often research is taken and patented by a private third party for-profit corporation that sells an over-inflated product back to the public for obscene returns that never benefits anyone else.
