You better do as I say!!!

I’m in the U.S. I can honestly say that I have never experienced this. I have experienced people who thought that their prior service (or maybe current service) entitled them to some sort of special treatment, but mostly they are just jerks and would find some excuse to be entitled regardless of their military standing.

For the record, I don’t see giving a military discount as “worship” but more of a “thank you for helping to keep us safe” sort of deal. I have an unwavering respect for military vets as a whole and that will never change. However, if you step out from under that humility umbrella and start demanding anything due to your service, you can take a long walk off of a short pier, as far as I’m concerned.

My respect will be strong, as long as you continue to earn it. There is a huge difference in commanding respect and demanding respect.
