Better Call Saul S03E05 - "Chicanery" - POST-Episode Discussion Thread

Yeah, I hate the guy, but after much thinking I do believe he'd be genuinely happy and grateful for Jimmy if he had...well, pretty much any other job.

Jimmy is charming, we all love him and we all see quite clearly how much he loves his brother, but we can't act like Jimmy is 100% innocent and the victim of everything that has happened.

Even without taking BB into consideration, Jimmy has done some very questionable things in this show, so I can't blame Chuck for not wanting him in a profession he believes is sacred. A profession where there's a very real risk that he'll hurt people.

Sure, you can make the argument that by pushing Jimmy away he's creating Saul, who is pretty much Chuck's worst nightmare, but Saul is just an advanced Slippin' Jimmy, and Slippin' Jimmy happened without any help from Chuck.

Point is, Chuck is 100% right of being suspicious of his brother and not wanting him to be a lawyer and in some bizarre, fucked up way a small part of him IS doing what he thinks is best for everyone...but still, fuck Chuck.
