Better cycling trainer?

Between those two it's the Cycle Ops fluid 2 for sure. The Minoura is an odd rim-drive trainer which really fails to address any real-world concerns with wheel-on-trainers and introduces its own issues. There's a reason 99% of the trainers out there are either tire drive or direct drive (wheel off, trainer mounts to frame).

At this point you need to decide if you want a dumb trainer (like the COF2) or a smart trainer. There's no reason to spend $200-300 dollars today just to change your mind in a month and realize you really want an $800-$1200 smart trainer. A dumb trainer like the COF2 is a great piece of kit, but it can be boring as heck.
