I made friends with this kid on Reddit who was bummed out and slightly veering into incel territory. I was super depressed myself because my boyfriend died in an accident and all our friends split apart but I offered to be his dating coach and we texted a lot. He was so cool, it was hard because I'm way older and know a lot more but talking him into feeling positive really helped me a lot. He didn't have a lot of luck tho but I kinda just kept up the hope. We lost touch and I forgot all about him but he texted me a few days ago about how he met someone he really likes and it was really fucking sweet. I met someone too and that's been going well, still not fully functioning and maybe never will be but... it's ok.
