Is it better to be out as transgender in roller derby or not?

I don't mean it as trans women actually being men. I mean it as we need to make sure everyone is educated on how to spot potential technique issues and how to address it in a constructive way. We can't ignore our differences. Equality is not always being treated the same, it's being given the same support and opportunity for growth. I know that it can be a touchy subject, because we are afraid of seeming intolerant or rude. But it's no different than acknowledging that black girls hair needs different treatments to achieve full health. It's natural, and it's normal, and telling people to ignore our differences in a misguided attempt at equality just further erases what makes us all wonderful and unique.
