Between Ben Affleck and Robert Pattinson's Batmen, which one do you think was the darker, grittier one?

Batfleck is grittier, but Battinson is darker.

Affleck plays the Batman who decides that Superman has to die. He's seen too much and he's going to do what it takes to win his personal war. This is the comic book type of gritty though, where he's pummeling people to the point where they're probably just dead. His brutality is casual, effective, and only concerned with neutralizing the threat. It's violence to the point of being cartoonish.

Pattinson is more on edge. Where Affleck is imposing with a smug self-confidence, Pattinson feels like he's barely keeping it together. He never has that feeling of dominating the room, he's too green. His Batman is brutal out of necessity. If he lets up and misses a step (and you can believe that he would miss a step) then the whole act just falls apart and he's Bruce Wayne in a Halloween costume.
